Botox, Dysport and Xeomin all use the same active ingredient, botulinum toxin, as a relaxing agent for facial muscles. However, each is formulated slightly differently, which can be advantageous for those who want to reduce facial lines and wrinkles. Xeomin differs from Botox and Dysport as it is a pure form of the active agent, without any proteins added. It is easier to store (it does not need to be refrigerated) and patients are less likely to become immune to the effects. Those who have used Botox or Dysport but no longer get the same results may have anti-bodies that are limiting effectiveness. Xeomin is perfect for these patients. It will still relax the muscles and smooth frown lines and does not contain the proteins attacked by the anti-bodies.
Erase Brow Lines
Xeomin injections target the neuro receptors that signal muscles to contract, creating the lines on your brow. In a quick office visit, Dr. Rosenberg can carefully place injections to target the “11” lines between your eyebrows or the lines on your forehead. The results take a few days to take effect and then last for 4-6 months before repeated injections are needed.
